EdenSpark Game Jam #4 Theme — "Forbidden Knowledge"
We're launching the fourth EdenSpark jam! Reminder: within the jam program with a total prize pool of $250,000, $5,000 is awarded for each jam. Both solo developers and small teams can participate, and games are created on the EdenSpark platform and published on itch.io.
Game Jam #4 Theme "Forbidden Knowledge"
Some things are better left unknown — and that's exactly why they're so tempting to explore. Forbidden knowledge might be hidden in ancient scrolls and sealed grimoires, in classified archives and encrypted files, in someone else's memories, or in a secret someone is trying very hard to keep. It could be a curse, a key, a clue, or a truth no one was ready for. How you interpret the theme is up to you: through story, mechanics, atmosphere, or something we can't even imagine yet. The main thing is that the connection to the theme should come through in the project's design and gameplay.
Dates: October 1–31. The jam runs for a full month — enough time to develop your idea, polish your game, and keep the player experience in mind. A small tip based on the last jam: even if your game is full of secrets, keep its rules clear. The winners of each jam are chosen by the EdenSpark team and participant voting.
By the way, this is the first jam since the release of EdenSpark 1.0. The new version brings built-in multiplayer with lobbies and invites, offscreen emission in global illumination, world-space UI canvases, and much more. It's the perfect time to put the new features to work.
Ready to start? Register on EdenSpark, join our Discord and Telegram, read the rules, and assemble your team. Follow updates in the communities and ask questions — we're here to help.
